Scorchers focus on WAFCON

The Malawi National Women’s Football Team local based players have today began training camp ahead of the FIFA Window to run between March 31 and April 9.

Last month FAM got an invitation from their South African counterparts for the Scorchers to play two friendly matches against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on 5 and 8 April.

However, the hosts have today communicated that they are having logistical challenges to organize the matches and will confirm before the end of the week if the matches will proceed.

Nonetheless, the Scorchers  will proceed with the training camp which Coach Lovemore Fazili is using to prepare for the 2026 WAFCON qualifier against Angola in October.
