Malawi's Football Father Chikafa no more

It is with great sadness to announce the passing on of FAM Patriach Mr Sydney Dawson Chikafa, the founding president of the Football Association of Malawi.
He has been called to the Lord today afternoon 15th March 2015. Programme will be announced later. Vigil at Chikafa’s residence near Ndirande market in Blantyre. May his soul rest in peace.
Chikafa founded FAM in 1966. His last appearce at a football event was on 16th November 2003 at the FAM AGM in Salima where the  FAM president  Walter Nyamilandu  decorated him with a life time achievement award.
