The Malawi Schools Girls’ national team will begin their CAF African Schools Championship challenge with a match against Benin on Wednesday afternoon.
The girls have so far had three training sessions in Accra, Ghana, ahead of the four-day tournament which will take place at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Speaking after the team’s final training session on Tuesday afternoon, head Coach Bridget Chirwa said her girls are geared for the games.
“We have been here for three days and having had our third and final training today, all the girls are okay and ready for the match tomorrow.
“We haven’t seen the Benin girls in action but from their physical appearance they are just like our girls. We just have to be focused and play our game according to plan”, said Chirwa.
After Wednesday’s match , the team will on Thursday play the final group stage matches against Morocco and Ghana.
The top two teams from each of the competition’s two groups will proceed to the semifinals which will be played on Friday before the third place and final matches on Saturday.
