Malawi Coach reacts to CAF Schools finals draw

The Malawi Schools Girls National team Head Coach Bridget Chirwa is confident her charges will get past the group stages of the CAF Schools Championship.

Chirwa was reacting to the draw conducted in Accra, Ghana, on Monday afternoon where Malawi has been placed in Group A alongside hosts Ghana, Benin and Morocco.

The tournament will kick off on Wednesday and CAF is yet to release the full fixture.

According to Chirwa, they prepared the girls for all the eight teams who qualified for the final tournament and she believes they will deliver.

“We have been preparing for every team and we are set to meet Benin, Morocco as well as the hosts. Being hosts, we know that Ghana will have a home ground advantage and support but we have told our girls to stay focused”.

“The weather this side is a little bit hot as compared to Malawi but the girls are getting used to it. It was hard for them during the loosening session yesterday mainly because they were tired due to the long flight but now they are coping up and hopefully they will give us good results” said Chirwa.
