FAM to hold CAF B course in August

The Football Association of Malawi will in August hold a CAF B coaching course as one way of increasing the pool of qualified coaches for elite football.

The course will run between August 18th to October 18th, 2024, and will attract 25 Participants.

This is the first CAF B course in two years as the last one was held in July 2022.

Last year FAM concentrated on CAF C courses as the Association hosted three Courses with the aim of closing the gap between beginners and CAF B holders.

FAM Technical Director Benjamin Kumwenda said with Club Licensing demands it is important to train more coaches at CAF B level so that Super League clubs have a wider base to search for qualified coaches.

“We received an overwhelming response to the call for applications, and we’re excited to see the best candidates take this opportunity to upgrade their skills.

“Our goal is to produce coaches who can compete with best in Africa. With CAF B License, FAM is paving the way for a new generation of top-class coaches who will take the beautiful game to new heights,” said Kumwenda.

The CAF B License aims to equip coaches with advanced knowledge in areas such as tactics, player development and team management.

It is also a minimum coaching qualification required for one to coach in the country’s elite league according to the FAM club licensing regulations.

Football Association of Malawi’s CAF B License Course: A step Towards Excellence

Football Association of Malawi has announced list of successful candidates who have been selected to participate in the CAF B License training program. The program is scheduled to go two months training at the Mpira village. The success candidates are expected to take place from August 18th to October 18th, 2024, spanning duration of two months.

This will be second course to take place in Malawi since 2016, the last one took place in July, 2022. It’s been two years since we gathered for this specific training and we are excited to once again bring participants for another engaging and informative session.

The upcoming CAF B license course designed to enhance the skills of local couches. In a statement, Technical Director, Benjamin Kumwenda said the CAF B license course scheduled on 18th August is a crucial step towards professionalizing our couching standards in Malawi. “We received an overwhelming response to the call for applications, and we’re excited to see the best candidates take this opportunity to upgrade their skills”, he said.

The CAF B License aims to equip coaches with advanced knowledge in area such as tactics, player development and team management. With the CAF B License, FAM is paving the way for new generation of top-class coaches who will take the beautiful game to new heights.

Each candidate is required to pay a fee of 200,000 Malawi Kwacha to enroll in the course.
