
Malawi women football star Tabitha Chawinga continues to hog the limelight in Sweden’s second-tier league as she is now the leading scorer.
The Kvarnsveden IK forward leads the scorers chart with 15 goals from 13 matches, one ahead of Jalkenid of second-placed Djurgarden.
Her team also leads by a three-point cushion on 32 points from 13 matches ahead of Djurgarden who have 29 points from 12 games. .
Chawinga netted a double on Saturday when they beat seventh-based hosts Sunnana 3-1.
“If Kvarnsvedens IK would reach first or second place in the Elite-One League 2015, DD Sunshine will get a bonus of 2,000 US dollar (K2.5million) paid out as soon as the league ends,” reads part of the agreement between the two clubs.
The former Krokom/Dvarsatt IF player has set herself 40- goal target this season to win the golden boot.
In her debut season while playing for Krokom/Dvarssatts, Chawinga finished as the top goal scorer with 39 goals after playing 18 games.
