Zomba Urban are South East FIFA /FAM U15 league champions

Zomba Urban: The South Eastern Champions

Zomba urban are the champions of the Fifa/FAM Regional League for the South  and Eastern Region following a 5-1 win over Chiradzulu on Wednesday.
Urban’s closest title rival Mangochi saw their hopes fade as they drew 1-1 with Phalombe and are at 35 points against Zomba’s 41 with a game to go.
Levi Singano scored a hat -trick to inspire Zomba to the title with Chisomo Ng’ona and Richard Chikopa scoring the other goals.
In Mangochi the hosts scored  through Lawrence Scott while Gift Majiya scored for Phalombe.                                                                                               The champions played the game in the absence of the their head coach Tione Mhone who was with the Malawi National Under 17 team at the Cosafa Youth Championship in Mauritius.
Mhone said he was proud of the boys for winning the title which he said they deserved for being consistent.
“We have been very consistent throughout the season and the boys worked hard. This has been an exciting tournament and it will produce great players,” said Mhone.
Mangochi will finish their season with a match against Balaka on Sunday.
Dedza won the Central Region championship three weeks ago.
