Malawi Women’s U-20 National Team Head Coach, Maggie Chombo, has expressed confidence in her team’s readiness for Sunday’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2026 African qualifiers against the Central African Republic at Bingu National Stadium.

Malawi aim to kick off their journey to Poland with a commanding performance, seeking to gain an upper hand before the return leg scheduled for May18th.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference in Lilongwe, Chombo highlighted the team’s determination and desire to win the first leg and secure a significant advantage ahead of the away fixture.

“We are playing against a team we don’t know much about, but we have encouraged the girls to utilize all the weapons at our disposal. We need to score as many goals as possible to increase our chances of winning this tie,”

“The girls are showing a strong desire to win, and I am optimistic that we can secure a victory,” she said.
