WSBET dresses Beach Soccer National Championship teams

World Star Bet (WSB) Malawi has stepped up to support the 2024 National Beach Soccer Championship by sponsoring kits for all six participating teams.

The betting firm has partnered with the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) in a MK6 million deal that ensures every team will be fully kitted for the two-day tournament set to take place at Livingstonia Beach in Salima from April 26 to 27, 2025.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony, WSB Malawi’s General Manager Timothy Kandimba expressed the company’s enthusiasm for aligning with the high-energy nature of beach soccer.

“Beach Soccer is a fast-paced and growing sport, and its energy aligns with our brand’s values,” said Kandimba.

“We’re proud to be part of this exciting event. Beyond the jerseys, we’ll also engage fans with giveaways and interactive activities. This is just the beginning, expect more from World Star Betting.”

Force Ngwira, Chairperson of the National Beach Soccer Association hailed WBS for the timely intervention.

“This is very appreciative and as Football Association of Malawi and Beach Soccer, we are very thankful. We really didn’t expect this, our teams, our boys didn’t have jerseys.

“I would also like to thank the president of Football Association of Malawi Fleetwood Haiya [on behalf of Beach Soccer Association] for the effort. As an Association, Beach Soccer on our own, we would not be able to identity the sponsors but he has tried his best to find the sponsors to sponsor our teams,” he said.

Ngwira believes this sponsorship deal will ignite greater motivation among the players and help expose the sport to a broader audience.

“Our players and teams are going to benefit from the sponsorship because some of the teams really didn’t have the jerseys and this is a motivation to them.

“World Star Betting should expect a very huge benefit from this deal as I said earlier on that Beach Soccer is a sport which is very unique on its own. We will try our best to help them market their brand,” he said.
