Women’s Beach Soccer Launched in Malawi

In a bid to abide by the CAF Beach Soccer rules, The National Beach Soccer Association has introduced Women’s Beach Soccer in Malawi.

Speaking in Salima during the finals of the 2024 Fam Beach Soccer National Championship on Sunday 27th April, 2025; Beach Soccer Association of Malawi Chairperson Force Ngwira said; his association is geared to promote women’s beach soccer in the country hence the introduction of the game.

“Our vision is to see more women playing beach soccer as it is the case with the Women’s football, so we thought it wise to introduce the game”. Said Ngwira.

“As you know CAF has set new rules for Beach Soccer that every team to participate in its competitions, National teams must have Women’s Beach Soccer teams. So our aim is to have National Women’s Beach Soccer team in future.” Explained Ngwira.

“We appeal to the corporate world and individuals to come forward and support the girls, these girls needs our support hence the appeal”.

So far the country has 4 teams, 2 in the central region and another 2 in the Northern region. So we are planning to invade the other regions, so that they form their teams as well .

During the ceremonial match played at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima; Golden Jonkers women’s beach Soccer team defeated Chitheche womens beach Soccer team 3-2.
