The Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has confirmed Wizards as the 16th team.
Sulom president Innocent Bottoman said this follows their play-off victory over Airborne Rangers and the subsequent withdrawal of Dedza Young Soccer Saints from the play-offs.
“Wizards will be the 16th team having won their play-offs match against Airborne,” said Bottoman
He also confirmed that Karonga United will replace Chilumba Barracks as the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) has maintained its stance on the Karonga-based side.
“We met MDF authorities and they stuck to their guns that they want to trim the number of teams in the Super League.
“We will therefore communicate with the Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) to inform Karonga accordingly,'” he said.
