Wanderers reduce gap with leaders BB

Be Forward Wanderers lived it late to edge Airborne Rangers 1-0 at Kalulu Stadium in Nchalo on Saturday to cut their rivals Big Bullets’ lead to just two points in the TNM Super League.
Following the win, the Nomads now have 24 points, two behind defending champions Bullets. Both teams have played 12 games.
Striker Mapopa Kaunda, who is fast turning into the Nomads’ saviour, struck the priceless goal with just two minutes to full time.
The resut provided solace in the blue side of town following two consecutive losses to Silver Strikers (0-2) and Bullets (1-2)
Blue Eagles, who beat Silver 3-2 on the same afternoon at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe, occupy the third position with 23 points from 12 games.
Micium Mhone put Eagles ahead 14 minutes into the game from the penalty spot after Lucky Malata had fouled Junior Malidadi. Eagles held on to the slender lead going into the second half.
Peter Wadabwa levelled the scores eight minutes after resumption following a move of utter beauty that involved Green Harawa and Ndaziona Chatsalira who laid a pass for Wadabwa to score past an out of position Eagles’ goal tender John Soko.
The visitors, who were attacking full throttle, reclaimed the lead through Junior Malidadi in the 59th minute.
But Silver again retaliated through Green Harawa who scored from the penalty spot after an Eagles defender had handled the ball in the box.
Red Lions are now fourth following their fruitful meeting to the Centre where they beat Mafco and Epac by 3-2 margins. They  have 20 points from 13 games.
