Wanderers charged for unsporting behaviour and bringing the game into disrepute

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM), has charged Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Football Club for displaying unsporting behavior during the 2016 Carlsberg Cup Semifinal match between Mighty Be Forward Wanderers and Mangochi Police on Saturday 27th August 2016 at the Kamuzu Stadium. The charges are as follows:

  1. Bullying of Opponents

During the above stated match, Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Supporters bullied a Mangochi Police player by pouring him soup in the dressing room tunnel during half time which is contrary to article 24.12 of the Carlsberg Cup Rules and Regulation.
         2.   Failure to control own Supporters
During the above stated match, Mighty Be Forwarded Wanderers failed to take precautionary measures to control its supporters who invaded the dressing room and tunnel despite being aware and having been advised that they were not allowed to do so. This was contrary to Article 24.1 of the Carlsberg Cup Rules and Regulations
        3.    Bringing the game into Disrepute
The actions of Wanderers supporters resulted in the delay of the second half kickoff as well as negative publicity of the above stated match therefore bringing the game of football into disrepute. In terms of Article 24.21 of the Rules and Regulations, the Organising Committee hereby charges the club accordingly.
Mighty Be Forward Wanderers Football Club have 24 hours to respond to the charges accordingly.
