Super League enters second week

Surestream in action against Blue Eagles

The K90 million TNM Super League enters the second week with potentially riveting battles lined up for Saturday and Sunday.
The pick of the week for Saturday is that between Azam Tigers and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
It is a contest expected to be fiery and passionate because it comes just a week after three key Tigers players—Isaac Kaliati, Stanely Sanudi and Malumbo Gondwe—completed their move to Wanderers and made their debut against Epac FC last weekend.
The other interesting aspect is that Tigers are being coached by the Nomads former mentor Gerald Phiri who resigned mid-last season.
The Nomads’ team manager Stevie Madeira was also with Tigers last season before he quit and returned to Lali Lubani Road.
Wanderers, who made a brilliant start to the new season, with a 3-1 win over Epac, have also signed other big-name players apart from the trio from Tigers such as Jimmy Zakazaka [Bullets], Muhamad Sulumba [Blantyre United] and Rafique Mussa [Bvumbwe Reaserch].
Tigers will look up to veteran winger Emmanuel Chipatala, Diverson Chilemba, Bonda Mpinganjira and Lawrence Milanzi.
In another potentially explosive fixture, Moyale who are leading the table with four points from two games, travel to Naknhaka to face Blue Eagles while in Dedza, it will be battle for the rookies when Dedza Young Soccer Stars host Mzuni who will be kick-starting their season after the controversy that surrounded their promotion which went even as far as the courts.
Former champions Silver Strikers have a tricky fixture against Mafco at Nankhaka in Dwangwa.
On Sunday, defending champions Big Bullets will be looking forward to collecting full points again when they face new kids on the block Surestream FC at Kamuzu Stadium.
It will be interesting to see how Surestream’s technical director Peter Mponda will fair against his former team.
Bullets beat Silver 2-1 in their opening fixture while Surestream lost 2-4 to Blue Eagles.
In other games slated for Sunday, it will be an all-soldiers affair when Airborne Rangers host Red Lions in Dwangwa, while Kamuzu Barracks engage Mzuni in Dedza.
Epac host Moyale at Civo Stadium.
