Songwe Border Take Charge as Ndirande Drop Points

Songwe Border United have taken charge of the NBS Bank National Division League table after Ndirande Stars were held to a goalless draw by Ntaja United at Mpira Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Ndirande Stars, who moved top of the table in Matchweek Three, failed to maintain their lead after dropping two points at home.

The result leaves Ndirande Stars in third place with eight points, while Ntaja United remain seventh with five points, level with sixth-placed Chilobwe United.

Songwe Border United are now confirmed as leaders with 10 points following their 2-1 win over Embangweni United at Rumphi Stadium on Saturday.

Extreme FC are second with nine points after beating Mzuzu City Hammers at Owen Malijani Stadium in Mchinji on Sunday.

Embangweni United are fourth, while FOMO FC, who drew 1-1 with Bangwe All Stars on Friday at Mpira Stadium, sit fifth.

Fresh from relegation from the top-flight league, Mighty Tigers find themselves in the relegation zone after suffering their second defeat of the season against Namitete Zitha, who registered their first win in the second-tier league.

The Tigers are ninth with four points, while Namitete Zitha are 10th with three points. Bangwe All Stars are 11th with two points, while Changalume Barracks remain bottom with one point.
