NBS Bank National Division League leaders Songwe Border United will begin the second round of Season Two with an away fixture against bottom-placed Changalume Barracks at Zomba Stadium on Saturday, 12 September.
Songwe finished the first round at the summit on goal difference after tying on 25 points with second-placed Extreme FC.
Both teams won eight matches, drew once and lost twice in the opening round, but Songwe led the table after scoring 19 goals and conceding nine, while Extreme scored 16 and conceded eight.
Extreme will also be on the road this weekend as they face ninth-placed FOMO FC at Zomba Stadium on Sunday. FOMO have 12 points and will be looking to start the second round strongly as they fight to move away from the bottom four.
Third-placed Mzuzu City Hammers, who have 20 points, will travel to Balaka Stadium on Sunday to face seventh-placed Ntaja United, who have 15 points.
Mzuzu City Hammers are level on points with fourth-placed Embangweni United, who will also be away this weekend. Embangweni will face sixth-placed Namitete Zitha at Owen Malijani Stadium in Mchinji.
Chilobwe United, who are fifth with 15 points, will face Bangwe All Stars in an NBS Bank NDL derby at Mpira Stadium on Sunday. Bangwe are 11th with six points and will be aiming to start the second round with a positive result in their survival fight.
Mighty Tigers, who have found life tough in the second-tier league after being relegated from the top flight, are 10th with nine points.
They will open their second-round campaign on Saturday at Mpira Stadium against eighth-placed Ndirande Stars, who have 14 points, in another NDL derby.
With the title race, promotion battle and relegation fight still tight, the second round is expected to bring more intensity as teams fight for position in the NBS Bank National Division League.
