Second half show give Flames coaches confidence

Flames' John Banda No 10 beaten to the ball by a Bafana Bafana player

A low start saw Flames concede two goals in the first 25 minutes as they lose 2-1 to South Africa in a training match on Friday afternoon at the Mogwese Stadium.
However the Flames panel was happy with the second half performance by the team as they had an upper hand over the PSL stars dominated Bafana Bafana managing to pull a goal back.
The match was part of the team’s preparations for a Cosafa Cup quarterfinal match against Mozambique on Monday.
“The game was of two halves. The first half we started very badly. We gave away very cheap goals. The players looked tensed and failed to play their game.
“But we came out very strong in the second half and  played our normal game taking the game to the opponents  and it worked we scored one and could have scored more. But all in all we have a picture as to who is ready to play on Monday against Mozambique,” said assistant coach Jack Chamangwana.
The Flames  bad start  saw Bafana Bafana  scoring twice in the first half with the first goal coming in the 12th Minute through Tlou Segolela.
The Platinum Stars midfielder scored from a rebound after Charles Swini had fumbled a free kick.
Bafana struck again in the 25th minute through Phumelele Bengu, who also scored from close range following a defensive mix up in the Flames six yard box.
Coach Young Chimodzi made two quick substitutions pulling out Fischer Kondowe and Zicco Mkanda for John Banda and Robin Ngalande.
However it was the coming in of Micium Mhone for Frank Banda at half time that changed the whole complex of the match.
Substitute Gerald Phiri, who came in for Chikoti Chirwa, needed only five minutes on the pitch to score his first Flames goal in his first appearance.
Flames line up: Charles Swini( Mc Donald Harawa) Lucky Malata, Limbikani Mzava, John Lanjesi, Francis Mlimbika(Yamikani Fodya,- Bashir Maunde) Frank Banda( Micium Mhone) Chikoti Chirwa( Gerald Phiri Jnr) Chimango Kayira,  Fischer Kondowe(  John Banda) Zicco Mkanda (Robin Ngalande), Muhammad Sulumba(Tizgowere Kumwenda)
