Scorchers Set for Tanzania, Ghana Friendlies

Malawi National Women’s Football Team, the Scorchers, will play two international friendly matches against Tanzania and Ghana as part of preparations for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Scorchers will face Tanzania on Wednesday, 3 June 2026, before taking on Ghana on Saturday, 6 June 2026, with both matches scheduled to be played in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The two matches will be the Scorchers’ third and fourth international friendlies this year, after facing Australia and India at the FIFA Series tournament earlier in the year.

Head coach Lovemore Fazili is expected to announce his squad for the two matches on Monday, 23 May, with the team scheduled to start camp later the same day at Mpira Village in Blantyre.

The friendlies form part of FAM’s continued efforts to ensure the Scorchers get adequate match practice ahead of their historic WAFCON appearance.
