Salima Secondary benefits from CAF Schools prize money projects

FAM President Fleetwood Haiya  on Thursday presided over the commissioning of Electric Cooking pots at Salima Secondary School which were purchased as part of the Schools’ prize money from the 2022 CAF Schools Championship.
Salima Secondary School boys football team finished as runners-up in the inaugural 2022 CAF School Championship Cosafa Qualifier which was held at Bingu National Stadium and received USD75,000
They qualified for the Continental Championship where they finished third and got USD150,000.00
In total Salima Secondary School won USD225,000 as a prize money to be utilised for developmental projects within the School.
Salima and CAF aligned on implementing the following projects at the School:
1. Electric Cooking pots (USD40, 000)
2. Maize mill maintainance (USD 2,000)
3. Football pitch maintenance (USD17,000)
4. Fence construction (USD 160,000)
5. Sports Equipment (USD 6,000)
Haiya said FAM is pleased that the projects implentation has started and indicated that it is FAM’s duty to ensure that all projects are concluded.
“Today, I had the honor of commissioning the new electric cooking pots at Salima Secondary School. The project is a demonstration on how football can touch livelihoods, making a positive impact on communities.
“The projects which is aligned to CAF is focused on long-term benefits for Salima Secondary that includes electric cooking pots, a maize mill maintenance facility, football pitch and campus security fence including the purchase of sports equipment.
“FAM is committed to seeing these projects come to completion and marking significant steps in supporting youth development, education and football growth in Malawi.
