
Most Malawian players in South Africa were in action for their teams in the NedBank Cup round of 32 action. Here are some highlights:
Striker Robin Ngalande scored twice as his Ajax Cape Town trounced Minstay FC 9-1 on Sunday. These were the first official goals for Ngalande in Ajax colours since joining them on loan from Bidvest in August.
Gabadinho Mhango tested a rare starting berth for Bloemfontein Celtic in 2015 as they beat Rose United 3-0.
Mhango did not score but had a chance to score when the scoreline was 2-0 with South African Media reporting that “ Mhango should have added a third goal early into the second period but the diminutive striker fluffed his effort from close range.”
Defender LImbikani Mzava was one of the key players rested by Celtic. Midfidier Robert Ngambi’s is still nurisng an injury and continued to miss action with his Platnum Stars winning 3-0 against
Harry Nyirenda was in the Black Leopards side that won 6-0 against FC Cape Town.
Strikers Atusaye Nyondo and Essau Kanyenda will have their share of the round of 32 action on Wednesday as their teams play in the last two fixtures with Nyondo’s University of Pretoria playing Moroka Swallows while Kanyenda’s Polokwane City are visiting Supersport United.
