RESOLUTIONS OF THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF MALAWI (FAM) EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

 12th SEPTEMBER 2025

Pursuant to Article 41 of the FAM Statutes (2024), the Football Association of  Malawi Executive Committee (“the Committee”) held its 3rd Executive Committee (‘Exco’) Meeting for 2025 on 06th September 2025. Various issues that are critical to Transforming the Game of Football in Malawi were discussed. Some of the key resolutions made during the meeting include: –

A.   Technical Matters
  1. Procure modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered equipments for data and player performance analysis to be used for All National Teams and at Luwinga Inclusive Academy.
  2. Recruit a Technical Director (in consultation with and guidance from FIFA) by 30th September 2025
  3. Conduct medical capacity building for;
  • All Nation Teams
  • Super League Teams and
  • National Womens League Teams

 

  1. Establish a FAM Medical Clinic and Sports Science Centre.

 

 

  1. Finance and Administration Matters
  2. Establish a separate commercial entity wholly owned by FAM responsible for managing all commercial and business units of FAM
  3. Initiate the Lilongwe Head Office and Technical Centre project with immediate effect.
  4. The Executive Committee to interface with Member Associations by November 2025. Items to be discussed include 2026 budget consultations.

 

  1. Competition and Marketing Matters
  2. Stadium Security Enhancements
  • All officials who participated in the recent FAM-organized CAF Safety and Security programme must enroll in CAF and FIFA online courses.
  • Appoint Regional Safety & Security Officers (one per region) to coordinate and enhance security for all local games.
  • Procure at least 300 metal barriers for all local and international matches at Bingu National Stadium (BNS).
  • Recruit a full-time Safety and Security Officer
  • All National Teams must be accompanied by Safety and Security personnel when travelling for local and international assignments.

 

  1. Implement mandatory registration of all players participating in FAM competitions via Mpira Connect, with immediate effect.
  2. Capacity building in match organization, governance, financial prudence to District and Womens Football Administrators.
  3. Complete the Beach Soccer pitch in Lilongwe by end of October 2025.
  4. Establish appropriate Women’s Football structures in the Eastern Region and introduce a Women’s Regional Football League by 2026/2027 season.
