Registration for Presidential Cup starts

Zakazaka

Registration for the Presidential Football Cup for the 2016 edition has started at district level ahead of the kick off on March 5.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions manager Gomezgani Zakakaza said the registration process started last Saturday.
He also said the minimum number of teams per district is 32 for the purpose of smooth running of the competition.
“Anything more than that would make it difficult to successfully organise the competition,” he said.
Zakazaka said the registration fee at district level is K10 000 per team.
He added: “Teams should not expect us to extend the registration period. We have already delayed because the competition was supposed to start last month.”
The tournament was not held for the past two years as FAM and Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) agreed to divert part of the funding towards senior national team engagements.
