Ramadhan to start work Aug 10

Flames to regroup next week

Flames caretaker coach Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan’s short-term contract starts on Wednesday August 10.

Ramadhan was hired temporarily to oversee the remaining 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland’s Sihlangu in September.

FAM general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said the hiring of Ramadhan was a stop-gap measure and the way forward will be determined after the Swaziland match.

Meanwhile, Nyirenda has also confirmed the appointment of former Flames captain Patrick Mabedi and Blue Eagles coach Deklerk Msakakuona as caretaker first and second assistant coaches.

“The appointments were done following a recommendation by Mr. Ramadhan and the executive committee endorsed it.

“The coach was given a choice of picking his own assistants,” he said.

The rest of the backroom staff which has Clement Kafwafwa as team manager, Levison Mwale as team doctor and Swadick Sanudi as goalkeeper trainer, has been maintained.

He also said there is also a recommendation to hire a psychologist Dr. Mark Tembo and dietician Dr. Ali
