Pasuwa Names Final Flames Squad for Four Nations Tournament

Malawi National Team head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has named his final 25-man squad for the Mukuru Four Nations Tournament scheduled from 28 to 31 March 2026 in Francistown, Botswana.

Pasuwa has retained 15 players who featured in the Flames’ November friendlies against Lesotho, maintaining continuity in the squad. The coach had initially included Denis Chembezi, but he will miss out due to travel restrictions, while Chifundo Mphasi has been ruled out after sustaining an injury during club duties.

The squad comprises 17 foreign-based players and eight locally based players.

The team also sees the return of Mighty Wanderers midfielder Gaddie Chirwa, who last played for the Flames on 6 July 2025, alongside new call-ups including Hannover 96 midfielder Mwisho Mhango and Silver Strikers midfielder Festus Duwe.

Meanwhile, all foreign-based players have reported for camp, with the exception of defender Charles Petro, who is expected to join the team in Botswana.

Malawi will face Zambia in the first semifinal, while hosts Botswana will take on Zimbabwe in the second semifinal.

The winner between Malawi and Zambia will progress to the final to face the winner between Botswana and Zimbabwe, while the losing teams will compete in the third-place playoff.
