The postponed Matchweek Three fixture between Namitete Zitha and Chilobwe United will be the only NBS Bank National Division League match this weekend, with the two sides set to meet on Sunday, 6 June, at Owen Malijani Stadium in Mchinji.
The match was postponed last weekend following the passing of Chilobwe United Technical Director and veteran coach Rodgers Yasin.
Both teams head into the encounter still searching for momentum in the 2026/2027 campaign. Chilobwe United, who are among the new entrants in Season Two, sit ninth with one point from two matches, while Namitete Zitha are 11th and yet to register a point.
With four teams set to be relegated from the 12-team second-tier league, Sunday’s match carries early importance for both sides as they aim to move out of the relegation zone.
A win for Namitete Zitha would lift them above Bangwe All Stars and Chilobwe United, while victory for Chilobwe would take them to four points, level with Mzuzu City Hammers, Ntaja United and Mighty Tigers.
At the top of the table, Ndirande Stars lead on goal difference, level on seven points with second-placed Songwe Border United and third-placed Embangweni United. Extreme FC are fourth with six points, while FOMO FC sit fifth with five points.
