MK Academy Fined MK 1.5 Million for Failure to Honour NBM Women’s Premiership Fixtures

The Football Association of Malawi has fined MK Academy for failing to fulfil three fixtures in the NBM Women’s Premiership.

The fines relate to three separate incidents in which MK Academy failed to present itself for scheduled fixtures against MDF Lionesses on Saturday, 13 December 2025 at Champion Stadium, Ascent Soccer on 28 December 2025 in Lilongwe, and Mighty Wanderers Queens on 28 December 2025 at Mpira Stadium in Blantyre, resulting in the matches not being played.

In line with the NBM Women’s Premiership Rules and Regulations, a club that fails to fulfil a fixture without just cause forfeits the match, is deemed to have lost by three goals to nil (3–0), and is liable to pay a fine of MK 500,000 per offence.

Accordingly, MK Academy has been fined MK 500,000 for each of the three offences, bringing the total fine to MK 1,500,000 (One Million Five Hundred Thousand Kwacha). The match forfeitures and 3–0 results were applied to each fixture, with the corresponding points deductions effected during the course of the league and reflected in the final standings.

MK Academy has been advised that, should it be dissatisfied with the decision, it has the right to appeal to the FAM Disciplinary Committee within 72 hours of receipt of the decision, subject to compliance with Articles 25.12 and 25.13 of the 2025 NBM Women’s Premiership Rules and Regulations.
