MEDIA RELEASE-FAM TO HOST INAUGURAL ANNUAL FOOTBALL AWARDS

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) will host its first ever Annual Football Awards on Friday, 21st February 2025, at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre.
The glamorous event will recognize outstanding performances for Malawian football players, coaches, and referees across all elite competitions in both men’s and women’s categories in the 2024 season.

The awards will be divided into three segments: Castel Cup Awards, FDH Bank Cup Awards, and the Overall Awards.

In the overall category, the men’s segment will feature awards for Young Player of the Year, Footballer of the Year, Best Coach, and the Best XI. The women’s segment will include awards for Women’s Footballer of the Year, Best Women’s Coach, and the Best Women’s XI. Additionally, a Presidential Meritorious Award will be presented.
Nominees will be announced from Wednesday, 5th February to Friday, 7th February 2025. The voting process will run from Monday, 10th February to Friday, 14th February 2025.
For the Castel Challenge Cup and FDH Bank Cup the jury will comprise of the two competitions’ Technical Study Group members and selected football journalists while Super League team captains, coaches, and fans will vote for the overall awards.
