Mafco FC hitman Richard Mbulu has now gone two goals clear as leading scorer of the 2016 TNM Super League.
Mbulu scored a brace as his side beat Be Forward Wanderers 2-1 on Saturday to take his tally to 13 as the chase for the Golden Boot Award intensified.
“I am hoping to reach my 20-goal mark and it appears on track. I will keep on working hard,” said Mbulu.
Breathing down Mbulu’s neck are Wanderers’ Peter Wadabwa, Nyasa Big Bullets’ Chiukepo Msowoya and Kamuzu Barracks’ Manasse Chiyesa who have scored 11 goals apiece.
Azam Tigers’ Bright Munthali has scored  nine goals while  Anthony Banda (Epac FC) and Maxwell Salambula (Blue Eagles) have each scored eight goals.
Kuda Muyaba (Moyale) and Gilbert Chirwa (Blue Eagles) have banged in seven goals, followed by  Lughindiko Mushani (Mzuni FC), Jaffalie Chande (Be Forward Wanderers), Binwell Katinji (Silver Strikers) and Jack Chiona (Dwangwa United) who have scored six goals apiece.
So far, 358 goals have been scored.
Tigers’ Munthali managed to score the highest number of goals in one match when he netted five while Salambula of Eagles has twice managed to claim hat tricks.
Those that have so far managed hat-tricks are Khumbo Msowoya of Karonga United, Gastin Simkonda of Moyale, Anthony Banda of Epac FC and Peter Wadabwa of Be Forward Wanderers.
Stevie Msiska of Karonga and Stevie Chagoma of Blue Eagles have scored own goals.
