Manyenje breaks Tigers hearts again

Bullets fans in disbelief

Just like he did in 2014, Mussa Manyenje broke Azam Tigers hearts in the Carlsberg Cup yet again with a late goal to give Nyasa Big Bullets a 1-0 win and a place in the quarterfinal
At 0-0 the tie at the Kamuzu Stadium on Thursday afternoon looked destined for penalty shootouts but Manyenje had other ideas as he sneaked in from a blind side to collect a loose ball and score the winner with four minutes remaining on the clock.
In a Carlsberg Cup quarterfinal match in 2014 Manyenje scored in the 89th minute to level the scores with Tigers looking set to run away with it after leading for the better part of the match. Then James Chilapondwa scored Bullets second in added time to give Bullets a late 2-1 win.
Just like the 2014 affair Tigers were the better team and should have easily killed the game in the first half.
Led by Yamikani Chester, who had a game of his life, Tigers missed numerous clear scoring opportunities as they dominated Bullets who only had two shots on target.
Manyenje hit the cross bar in the first half, the only closest Bullets came to scoring before the 86th minute winner.
In the quarterfinals Bullets will face the winner between Moyale and Mafco who are playing on Saturday.
