The Malawi Under-17 national soccer team kickstart their Cosafa Under-17 campaign in Mauritius on Friday when they date Madagascar in Group B.
The match will be played at  Stade Saint Francois Xavier in Port Luis.
Their next match will be against Zambia on Sunday.
Apart from Madagascar and Zambia, Malawi’s other Group B opponents are Kenya, who are taking part as a guest team.
Coach Deklerk Msakakuona  said he is confident the team will do well.
The team flew out to Mauritius on Wednesday morning.
However, Msakakuona said the emphasis is for the team to get international exposure.
“This is a new team and the emphasis is to get the boys exposed but we are  also going there to compete,” he said.
The Junior Flames are in Group B alongside Zambia, Madagascar and guest side Kenya.
Malawi finished fourth at the last edition in 2014 in Zimbabwe.
