Malawi legends to face Zambia counterparts in Chipata

Malawi Football legends are expected to leave the country on Friday for a match against their Zambian  counterparts  at David Kaunda stadium in Chipata, Zambia on Saturday 28 October, 2023.

The match has been organised by the Football Association of Zambia in Eastern province as a post-independence birthday gift to football lovers .

Football Association of Malawi in conjunction with the J.K Production  is working on finalising  a Malawi squad for the match which will be released on Wednesday.

Among those eye-marked for the trip are Flames coach Patrick Mabedi and a number of players from the Flames 2010 AFCON squad like Simplex Nthala, Elvis Kafoteka, James Sangala, Joseph Kamwendo, Jimmy Zakazaka, Russell Mwafulira and Moses Chavula.

The Zambian legends team comprises mostly 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winning squad led by captain Christopher Katongo, Chisamba Lungu, Chintu Kampamba, Hichani Himoonde, Kalililo Kakonje and Felix Katongo.
