Kumwenda in Cairo for FIFA TDs workshop

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Technical Director Benjamin Kumwenda is in Cairo, Egypt, for a three-day FIFA New Standard Technical Directors workshop for English and French speaking countries from the CAF and OFC region.

The workshop, which has started today up to Thrusday  2nd June, was initially scheduled for Qatar in February but was postponed due to the country’s Covid-19 restrictions by then.

Among other topics during the workshop, Kumwenda and the team will go through the roles of a TD and will all present the projects which they have lined up in their respective countries.

Kumwenda said: “One element of the workshop is knowledge sharing  where each of us will present what they have planned to do this year in their respective associations so this will help us to learn from each and help develop the game even better when we come back.

“The workshop will also give me a link with other TDs and I will start collaborating with them so that they help whenever I  have challenges in executing my roles. So it’s a workshop worth attending for me,” said Kumwenda.

Kumwenda was appointed FAM Technical Director last month following the appointment of the then TD Mario Marinica as Flames Coach.
