Karonga, Chikwawa, Kasungu Crown Youth League Champions

Several districts across the country have concluded their Nthanda Under-14 and M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 football leagues, with champions confirmed in Karonga, Chikwawa, Nkhatabay and Kasungu, while title races remain open in a few other centres.

In Karonga District, Karonga Young Stars have been crowned champions of the Nthanda Under-14 League after finishing top with 43 points. Fatsani FC settled for the runners-up position on 41 points, while Hardknockers FC completed the top three with 36 points from 18 matches.

Fatsani FC, however, made amends in the M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 League by clinching the title with 45 points. Bruno de Lions finished second with 39 points, while Ipota Shooting Stars secured third place with 36 points from 18 games.

In Chikwawa District, Jeliati FC emerged champions of the Nthanda Under-14 League after accumulating 43 points from 18 matches. Fearnot FC finished second on 38 points, with Hanikiya claiming third place on 37 points.

The M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 title in Chikwawa went to Twissy Soccer Academy, who finished top with 51 points. KK 11 followed in second place with 42 points, while Chilango FC wrapped up the season in third position with 39 points.

Nkhatabay District saw Wasted Years Academy clinch the Nthanda Under-14 League title with 44 points, ahead of Kachulu FC on 42 points and Young Stars FC on 41 points. The M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 League remains undecided, with Chibuku Reserve and Wasted Years Academy set for a decisive final showdown this coming weekend to determine the champions.

In Kasungu District, Chisomo Academy once again asserted their dominance in the M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 League by clinching the 2025 title with 58 points. This marks their third championship triumph after previous successes in 2021 and 2023. Sports for Life FC finished second on 56 points, with Awemba FC close behind in third place on 55 points.
In the Nthanda Under-14 League, Tanga FC emerged champions, while Sports for Life FC and Chisomo Academy finished second and third respectively.

Zomba District witnessed a weekend of high-scoring encounters in the M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 League. Zomba Soccer Saints recorded an emphatic 18-1 victory over Maziko Sports Academy before collecting another maximum haul with a 5-1 win against Kababa Academy. Maziko endured further heavy defeat the following day, losing 12-1 to Walkers FC.

Disciples FC strengthened their grip at the top of the Zomba Under-16 table after a 5-0 win over Mulunguzi Academy, taking their tally to 41 points from 17 matches. Saints United are second on 39 points, while Zomba Soccer Saints sit third with 37 points.

In the Nthanda Under-14 League in Zomba, Mulunguzi Academy currently lead the standings with 49 points, followed by Mitekete FC on 45 points and Anganga Academy on 42 points.

Meanwhile, in Blantyre District, Blantyre United top the M’mera Mpoyamba Under-16 League with 39 points from 18 matches. Agumbala Stars and Mpingwe United remain in close pursuit on 35 points each, with Agumbala holding the advantage on goal difference.
