Kanyenda Happy With Goal Against Swallows

Esau Kanyenda in action for Polokwane

Polokwane City’s experienced striker Esau Kanyenda said he’s happy to have scored in their 2-1 League win over Moroka Swallows on Saturday at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The win elevated Rise and Shine to position five on the Absa premiership log standings with 28 points from 19 matches.
The former Jomo Cosmos hitman said he’d like to continue banging them in for his side and ensure they keep their good run in the league intact.
“I’m happy to have scored once again and helped my team to get the three points,” said Kanyenda.
“It’s my third league goal this season and it was great to score when a team is doing well – I think it brings back the pride in our supporters.
“As a striker, scoring leaves a great feeling and I hope to add more goals next to my name obviously.”
The Malawian-born striker added that they’re looking forward to their match against SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup next Wednesday.
“Yes the focus for us is now on the Nedbank Cup against United and it’s set to be a tough one for us I must say,” added the man known as Black Mamba.
“We’re motivated after the draw against Ajax Cape Town and we hope to keep our good run of form even in cup games.
“I will keep scoring to help my team and I’m grateful for the chances they create for us as strikers.
“I will just work hard and who knows, maybe I can end up challenging for the top scorer’s award.”
