Junior Flames to face South Africa’s Amajimboz on Sunday

The Malawi Under -17 national football team will on Sunday, 26th October 2025, play a friendly match against South Africa at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The match, which is scheduled to kick-off at 11:00 am, will curtain-raise the Blantyre Derby between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers.

South Africa, who have qualified for the FIFA U-17 FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar will face the Junior Flames in their last pre- tournament match before leaving for Qatar on Wednesday.

The Amajimboz are expected to arrive in the country on Friday afternoon.

The two teams met in the group stages of CAF AFCON Cosafa Qualifiers in Zimbabwe last month with South Africa recording a 4-1 win against the Junior Flames.

Meanwhile, Malawi Coach Enosi Chatama has called up a 20-member squad which has gone into camp on Thursday evening at the Mpira Village ahead of the match on Sunday.
