Iponga stun Super League giants KB

Second tier league side Iponga FC has knocked Kamuzu Barracks out of the 2024 FDH Bank Cup after beating them 1-0 in a round of 32 match Civo Stadium.

Walusungu Gondwe was the hero of the day when he scored at the dot of full time.

This means KB are the third Super League side to be eliminated from the competition by a second -tier side after Silver Strikers and Chitipa United.

Silver lost 5-3 to Blue Eagles on post-match penalties whereas Chitipa also lost 5-4 to Raiply.

Following Iponga’s win the Simso-Mzuzu 12 Northern Region Football league has three teams in the FDH Bank Cup  Round of 16 namely, Raiply, Lube masters and Iponga
