The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has received a timely boost ahead of the Three Nations Tournament scheduled for 28 November to 2 December, following Into Sports’ donation of twelve match balls worth MK7.2 million.
FAM Marketing and Broadcasting Manager, Mayamiko Kafwamba, expressed gratitude for the support, describing the gesture as both timely and impactful.
“Let me thank Into Sports for the donation. It was timely as they did not take long to respond when we knocked on their door. The donation will go a long way as far as preparing for the tournament is concerned,” he said.
Into Sports Blantyre Branch Manager, Evie Romarin, said the donation is a recognition of the Scorchers’ achievements and a motivation for the team to push even further.
“The match balls donation is just appreciation and recognition for the Scorchers’ hard work and their qualification for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco next year. It is also motivation for them to perform at their highest level,” Romarin explained.
The Scorchers, who are preparing for their maiden WAFCON appearance, will face Zambia and Zimbabwe in the Three Nations Tournament organised by FAM. All matches will be played at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
