Good start for Malawi U-17

Chimango Kalinga and Haji Wali of Malawi challenged by Tantely Claris Kevin Rakotondrasolo of Madagascar during the 2016 Cosafa Cup match between Malawi and Madagascar

Malawi Under-17 national soccer team got off to a good start at the Under-17 Cosafa Championship in Mauritius on Friday afternoon with a 2-1 win over Madagascar in Group B.
A late goal from Franck Chizuze saw the Junior Flames snatch a victory which looked unlikely after being reduced to 10 men during the second half after Henry Chiwaya was shown a second yellow card.
The Junior Flames had to come from behind to win the match as Madagascar took the lead through Fabrizio Mosa on the half-hour mark.
Substitute Raphael Banda equalised for Malawi five minutes into the second half..
They continued to have the better opportunities though and stole the points a minute from full time through Chizuze.
Their next game is on Sunday against defending champions Zambia who walloped guest side Kenya 4-0.
Malawi last group match will be against Kenya on Tuesday.
Group A gets under way on Saturday as hosts Mauritius take on Namibia in the first match at the Stade Georges V in Curepipe.
The home nation will be looking for a good start and a big local support as they take on a tough opponent.
South Africa enter the fray afterwards with a meeting against Seychelles at the same venue.
