Gaba explains difficult season at Celtic

Gaba celebrates his brace against Sundwons

Flames striker Gabadinho Mhango reckons he could have done better this season had it not been for injuries.
The Bloemfontein striker is slowly getting back to form following the return of head coach Clinton Larsen, but the 22-year-old insists him featuring again has nothing to do with the changes in the technical team.
“I have been affected by injuries and some of my teammates have been playing nice, so you can’t expect to be starting every game. Everyone was expecting me to do the same thing that I did last season, but football is not like that.
“There was nothing wrong [during Ernst Middendorp’s time]. He is a good coach and he can motivate. He can tell you what is the problem so you can improve. It is football and I accepted that,” he says.
Mhango scored eight goals in 30 starts in all competitions last season, but he has rarely featured this season with just 11 starts, including the one against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday when he scored a brace. He has scored four goals this campaign.
