
The Malawi National Football team, the Flames have today started training in preparation for the 2017 back to back Afcon qualifiers against Guinea in March.
The group of local based players is training at the Chiwembe Technical Centre with coach Ernest Mtawali putting much emphasis on physical training.
The players underwent a physical test on Monday morning and they all passed.
“They did well considering that they are coming from a long off season break. Their fitness levels are on average but we will get there at the end of the training camp,” said Mtawali.
Al the local players called into camp have reported save for Blue Eagles duo of John Banda and Schumacher Kuwali who are attending trails in Mozambique.
Flames face Guinea on 25th March away in Conakry and at home four days later .
