FDH Bank, the new Flames partner

FDH Bank has announced a three year sponsorship deal with the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) for the Malawi National Football team worth K30 million a year.

Making the announcement on Tuesday at the Mpira Village in Chiwembe, FDH Bank Managing Director Eric Ouattara said:“FDH is pleased to partner with the FAM in bringing the game of football to Malawians.”
“Football in Malawi is a major game that entertains millions of Malawians. It is a game that drives passion and excitement. Football puts food on the table of millions of Malawians as well.
“It is therefore undeniable that football is part of many Malawian lives. FDH Bank is a home grown and home bred bank. We pride in in our slogan which says Our Bank, Our Future and Grow with Us.
“This means that we want to be part of the future and growth of Malawi, even in football,” said Ouattara.
FAM president Walter Nyamilandu was over the moon with the sponsorship describing it timely as the funding for the national team continues to dwindle.
“This is good news to Malawi football and it could not  have come at a better time than now. The Flames funding from government has just been reduced and we started panicking on getting funds for the team’s last Afocn match against Swaziland next month.
“FDH is welcome to football and has not made a mistake. It is a Malawian bank and there is no any other avenue that would have helped them grow than football. FAM will make sure that FDH gets the best deal in this agreement to show others that football has value,” said Nyamilandu.
