The Malawi Women’s National Football Team (The Scorchers) will this afternoon depart for Angola ahead of their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Qualifier against the hosts on Thursday, 23rd October, at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.
Head Coach Lovemore Fazili has named a strong 25-member squad for the first-leg encounter.
However, the team will be without vice-captain Temwa Chawinga, who has been ruled out after suffering a groin injury while in action for her club on Sunday.
Captain Tabitha Chawinga arrived in Angola yesterday while Rose Kabzere and Faith Chimzimu are expected to arrive today to complete the squad.
