FAM Women’s League update

Northern Region Women Football Association have over the weekend wrapped their first-round fixtures while Southern and Central Region Leagues still have games to wrap their first round fixtures.

Most Matches in the South and Central regions were postponed as some players were in camp  with the Malawi Women’s National Football team for 2022 Cosafa Women’s Championship.

Cy Sisters lead the Northern region Log table with  29 points, seconded by Moyale Sisters who have 25 points. Gafu Sisters are at the bottom of the table with a single point while Chicago Sisters and Bico Women have four points each.

Central region had one match over the weekend as hosts DD Sunshine defeated Destiny Academy 2-0 courtesy of Mphatso Gondwe and Deborah Henry’s goals.

Ascent Academy are still on top of the Central region table with 10 points from four matches, just like DD Sunshine who are second due to the number of goals scored.

It was a busy weekend for the Blantyre based Nyasa Big Bullets Women as they had back-to-back fixtures on Saturday and Sunday.

Nyasa Big Bullets scored 20 goals and conceded just one in their two assignments as they thrashed Blantyre Hotspurs 14-0 on Saturday before a 6-1 win over Attu Bullets on Saturday.

The Maggie Chombo side lead Southern region Log table with 18 points from six matches, seconded by Ntopwa with the same points but Blantyre Zero have a superior goal difference.
