FAM National Women’s Championship week 3 wrap

Central region giants DD Sunshine suffered a 2-1 loss to Nyasa Big Bullets Women at Civil Stadium on Saturday.

Vanessa Chikupira and Fauza Muhammad scored for NBB Women while Ireen Khumalo took her goal tally to five as she scored a consolation goal for DD Sunshine.

Despite the loss, DD are still leading group A with six points from three games, same with Nyasa Big Bullets Women who have played two games but the later have a superior goal difference.

CY Sisters on Sunday afternoon continued their dominance over Topik Academy after a 7-0 win at Mzuzu Stadium.

Jane Njeula, Eltech Phiri and Chikondi Gondwe scored a brace each while Moreen Phiri netted in a goal to for CY Sisters to claim their first three points in this year’s competition.

Civil Service United Women had mixed outcomes in their southern region tour as they collected three points from their two fixtures at Mpira Stadium.

On Saturday, Kondawu Banda’s goal was enough to grant Ntopwa three points on top of Civil.

Civil had a impressive show against Evirom on Sunday afternoon as Bernadettar Nyenga scored a hat trick while Jessy Yosefe, Annah Baziliyo and Rachel Gonani scored a goal each in the team’s 6-1 win over the home side.

Civil now lead group B with six points and a superior goal difference of six having played three matches.

Top two teams from each group will qualify for Semifinals.
