FAM Mourns Red Lions Striker Frank Mussah

The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is shocked with the tragic and sudden death of Red Lions striker Frank Mussah, who lost his life while serving as a Malawi defense force soldier on a peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Red Lions Football Club General Secretary confirmed the tragedy, saying”It is true that we lost Frank Mussah, and it’s very sad. Our player passed away Friday night in the line of duty in DRC. His body is currently still there, waiting for his return back home.”

He added “The family of Red Lions has lost one of us who was very instrumental to our team. We are very sad about losing him in such a way. He has contributed a lot to our team, and it’s a very sad moment for the team.”

FAM President Fleetwood Haiya also conveyed his condolences, describing Mussah’s death as a great loss to Malawian football.”We are heartbroken by the news of Frank Mussah’s passing. He was a dedicated player and a true servant of both football and his country. His contributions to the game and his bravery in service will never be forgotten.” Haiya Said.

Frank Mussah contributed substantially towards 2019o Red Lions return to the TNM Super League.

FAM and the entire football community extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and teammates. May his soul rest in peace.
