FAM mourns Nyungwe FC players and Supporters

The Football Association of Malawi is mourning with its member association, Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) following the death of  22 members of FAM Northern Region Moto Division One League side Nyungwe FC in  a car accident at Tenenthe along the Chitipa- Karonga road on Saturday evening.
Nyungwe were on their way back from an away fixture against Chitipa Hammers.
FAM has since ordered that all Association Football matches and events on Sunday should observe a minute of silence in honour of the departed souls.
“Malawi football is saddened with this great loss and we grieve with those that have lost their loved ones and wish all that have been injured quick recovery. Our deepest condolences to families, Nyungwe FC, NRFA  for their loss.
“On behalf of the members of the Malawi football community, I hope that, in some way, our words of support may help bring a little bit of peace and solace in this time of sadness. May our Lord comfort the families in this trying time,” said FAM President Walter Nyamilandu Manda.
