FAM mourns former CAF President Hayatou

The Football Association of Malawi is saddened by the passing of former CAF President, Issa Hayatou.

Hayatou who led CAF from 1988 to 2017 passed on Thursday in France.

FAM President Fleetwood Haiya said: “On behalf of the FAM and the entire football fraternity in Malawi I express our deepest condolences on the passing of Hayatou to his family CAF President and all CAF Member Associations and the people of Cameroon. During his tenure as CAF President, Hayatou played a significant role in the growth and development of African football as we see it today and the continent will always cherish him.  May His Soul Rest in Peace.”
