FAM donates 3000 footballs to MASSA

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has donated 3,000 footballs to Malawi Schools Sports Association (MASSA) to be distributed in primary schools across the country.

FAM Vice President Christopher Madalitso Kuyera said this is part of FAM’s transforming the game agenda by ensuring that all grassroots structures at school level have proper match balls.

Kuyera stressed the importance of providing basic needs, such as footballs to Schools, to facilitate player development.

“Last year we donated about 8000 footballs to Massa, and this year we have donated again. h
Honestly we have seen that these donations are doing a lot to transform the game of football in rural areas.”

“We know that by the end of the day a lot of youth are going to take part in the game, and we are going to encourage and motivate them so that we see more children getting involved in the game” he added.

Massa General secretary Chrispin Nyasulu expressed his gratitude stating;

“As MASSA we believe that this is a milestone to us if we go back in times when MASSA was having a lot activities in schools is because we had a number of contributions from different organisations and associations. But we noted there was a gap and with the coming in of FAM we believe School football will rise again”

A total of 102 primary schools will receive footballs across the country.
