FAM DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE VERDICT ON MR. DAUD MTANTHIKO

MEDIA RELEASE

The FAM Disciplinary Committee, an Independent Committee of FAM, met to deliberate on the case involving Mr. Daud Mtanthiko as referred by the Commission of Inquiry.

Mr. Mtanthiko pleaded guilty to the charge of misconduct while on duty as a member of FAM Executive Committee contrary to Article 55 (1) of the FAM.

On his own admission, the Committee proceeded to give him a sanction of a four-month suspension from all football activities.

On the charge of dishonesty, Mr. Mtanthiko was acquitted, as evidence provided confirmed that he did not lie to FAM officials but admitted to have visited the Complainant at her room.

The committee noted that since the accused has been on suspension for a period of over four months, the suspension will apply to the time already served.

FAM remains committed to upholding integrity and professionalism in football.
