FAM delegation in Ethiopia for CAF Club Licensing Workshop

A delegation of three FAM is in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a four-day Regional CAF Club Licensing Workshop aimed at equipping CAF Member Associations with knowledge on how they can best implement the CAF Club Licensing Regulations.

The delegation includes FAM Club Licensing Manager Casper Jangale, Chairperson for the FAM Club Licensing Appeals Body Justice Jabbar Alide and Chairperson for the FAM Club Licensing First Instance Body Davis Njobvu.

Jangale said the workshop which will run between 9-11 May 2024 will enhance his office’s ability in conducting Club Licensing in the country.

“CAF wants the Member Associations to appreciate the new innovations that are coming up especially the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) which was introduced for Clubs and Licensors to be using when conducting club Licensing going forward”.

“This gives us an opportunity interact, network and continue building relationships with fellow Member Associations. Through these interactions, we learn a lot on how our colleagues are doing and already, we have enlightened on how we can meet the standards set by CAF when conducting Stadium visits. We hope this workshop will be beneficial not only to FAM but Malawi as a country as well”, said Jangale.

Among other things, delegates at the workshop will go through updates on the usage of the CAF CLOP for the club licensing procedure, review of the status of the implementation of CAF Club Licensing System in the Member Associations’ national competitions, a refresher session on stadium pre-inspection procedures, training Club Licensing Managers in using Stadium module in the CLOP as well as a practical on-site stadium inspection training.

The workshop has brought together delegates from 16 CAF English Speaking Member Associations.
